Donkey Sanctuaries, Support Needed for Rescue Centres

Donkey Sanctuaries, Support Needed for Rescue Centres

Here is one to have a read about and the work they ALL do.

Welcome to The Wonkey Donkey Sanctuary
I am Jenny and would like to ask you, to joins us at our bespoke Donkey sanctuary and visitors centre. I became involved with donkeys 6 years ago, following an illness. They helped me to recover.

How it all began…
I have had a love of donkeys all my life; even when a small girl visiting the seaside. I always wanted to go and see the donkeys. I had an idea 5 years ago to build a donkeys sanctuary so we could rescue donkeys and nurse them back to health to enjoy the rest of their lives in comfortable caring surroundings. Its been a struggle but after 5 years in planning we have now completed our new Sanctuary and visitors centre.
What to expect
Well first there are our beautiful Donkeys to see and interact with. At present we have 21 Donkeys and we are now looking to rescue more of them in the future. You can take a stroll along the paddock walks and see the Donkeys in their family groups.
We have disabled access and disabled facilities.

Cafe & Gift Shop...
Try our new indoor Café or sit outside on the picnic tables in the play area or our courtyard seating area. We serve a range of sandwiches, paninis, fries and soups. Our qualified baristas will also be on hand if you wish to try one of our beautiful coffees. We have a selection of teas and cold drinks. We have children’s lunch boxes, snacks & ice creams. Then to finish could we temp you with one of our home made cakes or cookies made by our baker Josie.
All our food is prepared in a kitchen where nuts, gluten and other allergens are present and our menu descriptions do not include all ingredients.

Fun Day Out…
You are guaranteed a great day out for all the family! Do come and join us and your support will ensure we can continue our hard work and ensure that we can rescue more Donkeys in the future.

All donkey sanctuaries have different amenities to offer.

Our work would not continue without the generous donations made by the public. Each time you purchase an entry ticket or have a cup of tea in our cafe, you are supporting the donkeys. We are self-funded, non-profitable.
If you would like to contribute more, we do offer an adoption service for £3 a month (payable by standing order) or a one of fee of £25.
Alternatively, gifts of hay, straw, feed, rugs, grooming kits etc are all appreciated. If you would prefer to donate money it will be spent on vital equipment, vet bills, hoof maintenance and general donkey upkeep.
Please get in touch to discuss any of this.
