Dog Abandoned with a Suitcase at Train Station
Dog lovers from around the world and as far away as the Philippines have offered to re-house a pet dog who was found abandoned at a train station tethered to his own suitcase.
Kai is a Shar-Pei crossbreed and is now the most popular dog in the Scottish SPCA’s history after he was found tied to railings at Ayr station with a case containing a toy, bowl, food and a pillow.
As like Paddington Bear, he was saved after a person took pity on him – and the two-year-old has since been lapping up the attention at the charity’s centre in Glasgow.
Staff have answered more than 100 phone calls and above 80 e-mails offering him a new home.
Kai the dog abandoned at a train station has taken on a unique celebrity status.
The overwhelmed staff have days of work to sort out the deluge of applications after photos of Kai went viral – but they insist that Kai will remain in Scotland.
Assistant manager Katrina Cavanagh said: ‘We’ve had offers from America, the Philippines, Canada and England and we’re trying to work our way through them.
‘We’ve had good responses in the past but this is the biggest so far. We’ve never had offers from the other side of the planet before.
