Cats, and the Smells That They Dislike Most

Do you know which smells your cat hates.
Dogs are the champions of sniffing scents but your cat’s sense of smell is pretty keen as well. It is a good idea to get to know some of the most common smells that cats do not like. Firstly, avoid using scents that are going to freak your cat and secondly, it will give you which options for natural repellents. A few are listed below:
Citrus
Citrus fruits such as grapefruit, lemon and orange all have very strong smells. They can be overpowering on your cat’s sensitive nose, and for some humans as well. The juice and peels can be used as deterrents. However, there are a few cats that like the taste of these items.
Mint and Menthol
These smells are very pungent and seem to be particularly noxious to cats. Even a small sniff of these  is going to make your cat run and hide until the foul smell is gone. These items are also toxic when ingested. Avoid them at alltogether.
Lavender, Cinnamon and Rosemary
These spices and herbs are very disliked by cats. Too much lavender can also become fatal and can cause liver damage in cats. The same is true for cinnamon oil, as well as many other types of aromatic or essential oil you may use and have in the home.As you live with your cat, you are probably going to find a few other smells they hate. While you can use some of these to keep them out of certain parts of the house, or away from certain items, make sure the items you choose are not dangerous for your cat.
