NASA KILLS 27 MONKEYS USED IN ITS ANIMAL TESTING

NASA terminated the life of every monkey in its care in 1 day in 2019.

NASA’s Amers research center in Silicon Valley, California, had a total of 27 monkeys.
The company made the decision to euthanize all of the monkeys on
February 2 2019, according to papers released under the freedom of information laws.

The primates “were suffering the ethological deprivations and frustrations inherent in laboratory life”,
an expert in animal ethics commented. He also criticized NASA about how the monkeys were “not considered
worthy of possible sanctuary life.

US House representative Kathleen Rice wrote to NASA directly to demand why this was allowed to happen.

The monkeys are part of the US controversial practise of animal testing in laboratories.
Every year, over 25 million animals are used in experiments in the states alone.
