Bluehayes Cattery

Bluehayes Cattery

Accommodation: cattery
The cats are housed in spacious, heated, full height, separate chalets each with its own run.
There is a clear, perspex sneeze barrier between each chalet so that while each cat can see its neighbour there can be no direct contact.
The chalets are built to the exacting specifications of the Feline Advisory Bureau. (A charity dedicated to the health and wellbeing of cats.) Visit them on www.fabcats.org to see the work they do.

If your cat has its own sleeping bed or basket this should be brought. It will make your cat feel more secure and less fretful. Otherwise you should bring a clean (but not newly washed) blanket or towel that smells of home to help your cat settle in with familiar smells around him!

Carrying Basket
Only a few seasoned travellers take kindly to journeys. Therefore owners are strongly advised to put their cat in a suitable, secure carrying box/basket. Never, ever carry a cat in your arms!

Individual tastes are catered for. Only the best quality wet food and biscuits are provided and prepared in hygienic conditions. Special diets are catered for normally at no extra cost.
We offer DAILY treats (if allowed) with each meal; freshly cooked chicken, white fish, tuna, occasionally prawns and crab sticks. (this is your cats holiday too!)
Prescription diets can be maintained during your cats stay with us but we kindly request that you bring this food with you.
Regular mealtimes are adhered to. Adult cats are fed twice a day whereas kittens and seniors are fed according to their requirements.

Health
No cat suffering from or suspected to be suffering from any infectious or contagious disease can be accepted. All cats will be examined on arrival but the proprietors reserve the right to refuse admission to any cat showing signs of ill health pending advice from a Veterinary Surgeon. We are sure you will all understand the reasons for this at our cattery.
Owners will appreciate that this is essential in order to safeguard the health and wellbeing of the cats boarded.
Veterinary attendance is assured should this prove necessary. Any medication previously prescribed can be continued during your cats stay.
Diabetic carts are welcome to stay with us. We are fully trained to administer insulin as required and monitor the cats intake of food and water.

Male cats over the age of 7 months which have not been neutered cannot be boarded with us, mainly because they present an infection hazard.

ALL cats must be vaccinated against FELINE INFECTIOUS ENTERITIS and UPPER RESPIRATORY TRACT INFECTIONS (cat Flu). If your cat is allowed to come and go outdoors it is strongly recommended it also has the LEUKAEMIA vaccination (FeLV), but this is not a compulsory requirement for boarding your cat with us.
Owners must produce an up to date vaccination certification on arrival. It will be retained by us during your cats stay.
